Thanksgiving Food Distribution November 22, 2010
Our Client Choice Food Pantry served over 150 families on Monday, November 22.
One hundred registered ahead of time for a "Thanksgiving box" and the rest shopped in the CCFP (turkey included!).
There was such a crowd that we had to put an intake station out on the sidewalk!
Many thanks to all the donors and volunteers who made this special day possible!

FUMC-BR volunteers clean out HOPE's storage pod during
FaithWorks 2010
A group of FUMC-BR volunteers worked really hard on Saturday, October 30, to clean out an old storage pod. It was a morning of heavy lifting and camaraderie, and we never would have gotten rid of that POD without them.
Thank you to team leader Pam Fairly and the whole group!

Country Day School 3rd Grade Class Volunteers in
Client Choice Food Pantry
Each year around this time, the 3rd graders from Country Day School visit HOPE Ministries to volunteer their time in the food pantry. After their work shift, the class sat down with HOPE Director of Operations and Social Enterprise to process their experience and learn more about the struggles of families living in poverty.

Power of HOPE speaker and author Liz Murray captivates audience
Liz Murray riveted the all-ages audience on Thursday, Sept. 16, at the Power of HOPE, a fundraiser to benefit HOPE Ministries. She shared her story of growing up on the streets of New York City with great candor and even more humor. Liz connected her story of childhood poverty and hunger to the all-too-similar daily struggles of HOPE's clients. Liz viscerally reminded the audience that organizations like HOPE need financial support to help those at-risk for homelessness become self-sufficient. To all who made this event possible, all who attended, and all who made contributions - THANK YOU!! -Photo by Stephen Lindsay
